St. Paul, MN – April 24, 2008 – API Outsourcing and Aberdeen jointly presented a webinar entitled, “Deliver Enterprise-Wide Value through Operational Efficiencies and Cost Savings” in April 2008. This webinar focused on the transformation of accounts payable (A/P) through a combination of document management, workflow and labor arbitrage. The webinar underlined how A/P transformation influences the delivery of enterprise-wide value through operational efficiencies and cost savings. The underlying research evaluated the hypothesis which in order to reduce invoice processing costs and improve operational efficiencies, enterprises should leverage third-party outsourcing expertise and technologies to automate A/P processes. This means delivering positive impacts by moving A/P from a manual, paper-based environment to an electronic one.
The evaluation was conducted by the Aberdeen Group through a web-based survey to target finance and procurement professionals in its research membership pool, which was then followed up with interviews from survey respondents. The A/P Outsourcing Engagement Structures were examined along with the top challenges that enterprises encountered in the process. The A/P operational structure, before and after transformation, are identified and the impact on processing costs from A/P outsourcing and automation are quantified. It highlighted the performance advantages which Best-in-Class organizations enjoy through outsourcing of A/P; while looking at the strategies employed to establish their leading performance and concludes with recommendations for enterprises with the desire to pursue an A/P transformation strategy.
The webinar consisted of an Aberdeen subject matter expert discussing their research findings, a representative from Katun Corporation sharing their experience of gaining efficiencies and cost savings in A/P while working with outsourced service provider, and representatives from API discussing how service providers can assist in a partial or total transformation of the A/P processes.
